METHODOLOGY

National Technology Group employs a Unified Workflow Process and standardized Implementation Methodology across all disciplines and practices within the organization, resulting in a consistently successful approach to project delivery, highlighted by significant cost reduction, well-coordinated implementation, and timely delivery.

All members of the NTG Project Team remain dedicated and actively engaged throughout the project lifecycle, which consists of three key phases:

PROGRAM PHASE

The Program Phase is an iterative processs in which project stakeholders discuss, review, refine and document the project goals and objectives in order to clearly define the project criteria and standards necessary to ensure the successful implementation of an integrated technology solution.
Activities within the Program Phase include:

  • Comprehensive Needs Assessment

  • Functional Use and System Capabilities Specification

  • Facility Impact Analysis

  • Project Budget Development

  • Preliminary Project Timeline Development

Upon completion of the Program Phase, NTG prepares and presents the Program Report, which is a comprehensive and detailed summary of all technology systems design goals, project objectives, operational requirements, proposed solutions, and preliminary budget which have been defined by the project team during this phase of the project lifecycle.

DESIGN PHASE

During the Design Phase, information presented in the Program Report is translated into conceptual drawings, detailed diagrams and comprehensive technical specifications.

The Design Phase is comprised of the following sub-phases:

  • Conceptual Design: NTG prepares a preliminary design package which includes conceptual drawings graphically depicting the basic system architecture, as well as specifications and technical data for key system components.

  • Schematic Design: Further detail is refined during this phase in which "Test Fit Plans" and detailed construction drawings are developed in order to establish the scale and architectural intent of the project. Drawings may include general building plans, reflected ceiling, elevation and section drawings, electrical and telecommunications infrastructure requirements and Furniture Plans and millwork detail. Sustainability, integrated building and energy management and control systems and LEED certification project initiatives are also addressed in detail during this phase.

Upon completion of the Design Phase, NTG prepares a comprehensive, detailed construction plan and specifications package, which includes complete schematic and infrastructure drawings, trade coordination specifications, and architectural drawings and plans.
